A federal study shows adult obesity grew faster in Virginia than any other state.
In 1990, about 10 percent of Commonwealth citizens were obese. By 2002, that number jumped to just under 24 percent.
Virginia is not the state with the highest number of obese people. That distinction goes to Mississippi, West Virginia and Texas.
