The group gathered at the Albemarle County Office Building along 5th Street Extended to talk about stress and how it relates to child abuse.
The workshop is just one in a four-part series dealing with the issue.
Parents went over what stress is, what causes it, and how to keep it under control when dealing with children.
"What we hope that the parents will get out of this is an awareness of what causes stress for them and that sometimes that's around their expectations of their children and whether they're appropriate or not based on their developmental stages, as well as the external stressers in their life and how they view them," said Region Ten's Cara Marinucci.
The next brown bag lunch workshop is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 12, also at the county office building. The group will be discussing mandatory reporting of child abuse.
