Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic kicked off its 10th annual Record-A-Thon today.
RFB&D supplies students who have trouble reading standard print with recorded books. They serve more than 9,000 students in the Virginias and Carolinas. They hope to double production this week.
"This is our chance to let everybody know we're here and ask for support, volunteers; we always need other readers," said Executive Director Chris Eure.
Delegate Mitch Van Yahres was also honored during the kickoff for his years of dedication to the organization. The Record-A-Thon will run through April 29.
