Local author Susan Tyler Hitchcock spoke to a crowd at the Charlottesville Senior Center about her newest book "Mad Mary Lamb."

Mary and her brother Charles are the duo best known for their children's book "Tales From Shakespeare." Generations of children have enjoyed the Lambs' work, yet little know the secret that Mary killed her mother with a kitchen knife.

Every last Wednesday of the month the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society presents speakers on various topics. For more information on the event you can visit their website at albemarlehistory.org, or call the ACHS at 434-296-1492.
