The search is on for 9-year-old Dillon Groene and his 8-year-old sister Shasta after they went missing from their home in Idaho and three people in that house were found murdered.
"We don't have any leads for this abduction, or direction of travel, or people of interest, so we are doing everything we can. We are using cadaver dogs around the house and at the same time we are doing an Amber Alert," said Kootenai County Sheriff Rocky Watson.
The Kootenai County Sheriff's office was called last night to a home in the small town of Coeur D'Alene by a neighbor who said they had not noticed much activity in the home in the past several hours. Officers found three people murdered inside the home including the mother of the missing children, their older brother, and a man believed to be the mother's boyfriend.
"The main concern now is the two children that we cannot find. We have search dogs in the immediate area," said Watson.
The missing children's parents were divorced but the sheriff's office says that the father has been ruled out as a potential suspect. Officers are expected to comb the crime scene for two to three days.
"They were just regular people. It is unbelievable that something like this could happen," said neighbor Glenn Kimball.
