Charlottesville Police Search For Purse Snatchers

Charlottesville Police want your help tracking down a suspect after a pair of purse snatchings Tuesday.

Police say in both cases the victims were not hurt. The first incident happened just after 11 Tuesday morning on the corner of West and Ten and a half streets.

The second incident was on the 900 block of Henry Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Both victims were elderly women, and the suspect ran up behind them, grabbed their purses and took off running.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 35-40. He's about 5'6" inches tall, with a shaved head or short hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call crime stoppers at 434-977-4000.
