Fans React to Star Wars Grand Finale

Star Wars fanatics who were able to make it out to last night's screening were out in large numbers this morning and say the finale was well worth the wait.

"I liked the movie," says Star Wars Fan James Cohoom. "It was good, and I've been waiting a long time to see the last one. My wife and I went to the first one back around 1976."

Star Wars Fan Graeme Leiser agrees and describes the movie as "a great movie, a great way to tie up the whole series. I was a big fan when I was little, and it was a great thing to see it all come together."

Just last night about 1300 die hard fans went to Regal Seminole Square to see the first screening, and fans who haven't seen it yet say they just can't wait. "I'm excited about it," says one man. "I think the series takes science fiction to a new realm."

When asked what keeps fans coming back, another viewer says it's a cultural thing. "I think it's cultural literacy," says Cohoom. "It's apart of the Americana at this point and we wanted to see it."

Some credit Star Wars success to a good story line, while others believe it's simply the movie's mass appeal."I think it would be good for anyone to see it," says Leiser. "It appeals to younger audiences as well as older audiences, so I think it's something everyone should see."

The previous five Star Wars films have amassed a worldwide theatrical gross of $3.4 billions, and that doesn't count the merchandise.
