Thursday you will see a lot of flower delivery trucks on the roads because it's the busiest day of the year. Valentines Day!

Flower shops across Charlottesville have been working hard to gear up for the big day.

"It's a tremendous day to make people happy,” said Jim Plummer, The Charlottesville Flower Man.

And it's also the busiest day of the year for many flower shops.

"It's just fun hearing about the florist being so busy and everything being kind of crazy"

The Charlottesville Flower Man began preparing for this day almost a month ago to make sure things weren't crazy. They started ordering flowers and accessories like stuffed animals and balloons weeks ago.

“There's a multitude of tasks that have to be accomplished for each and every one arrangement. It’s just maintaining the energy to pull together about 300 times for a couple of day periods,” said Plummer.

This whole week was and will continue to be busy. They started delivering flowers Wednesday and will continue delivering last minute orders on Friday.

The shop says the best time to place orders is about a week before Valentines Day, that way you are guaranteed to get what you want.

The staff spent most of Wednesday night in the shop preparing arrangements for their 175 deliveries scheduled for Valentines Day.
