We investigated and found out that yes, Van Halen's crew was at Rapture Thursday night, the night before they were supposed to play at the John Paul Jones Arena.
But the bar says there was no altercation and Rapture had nothing to do with why Van Halen canceled the show. Van Halen says that the concert has just been postponed and they will reschedule.

Hey cite your source! this news clip was from Melodicrock.com! They also said there may be issues because of Eddie having hearing problems and these shows are postponed not canceled. It has caused frustration for Dave and Eddie about the effects this has had on the performances.

There's a lot of disappointed fans out there due to postphonment. A lot of people took off from work to see Eddie on Feb. 22. The least Van Halen could do is to send out a reschedule date asap. Come on guys, is this the way to treat your fans? We the fans need to work around our schedules too. Don't keep us waiting any longer. Schedule that date.....
