Some die hard blue grass music fans came out for the 13th Annual Grave's Mountain Festival of Music in Madison County, and a little bad weather didn't rain on their parade.
We all recognize the sound of dueling banjos, and today it was authentic at the 2005 Graves' Mountain Festival of Music.
"This is a very special place for our music and a very special place to perform," said Mark Newton, Rebel Recording Artist.
People came from all over the country to hear a little, or a lot of bluegrass music.
"[We took a] thirteen hour drive from Milwaukee Wisconsin," said one young fan.
"You can bring Grandma, you can bring the baby, and it's just a wonderful experience," commented musician Rhonda Vincent.
For Sue Haynes it was a chance to see her grandson fulfill a lifelong dream.
"He's playing fiddle for the third time now and he's dreamed about it all his life to play here," she explained.
Drawing over 20 bands for the 3-day show, Jim and Rachael Graves are pleased with the turnout. "We like to see all these people," Jim explained. He added that their favorite part is "meeting all the people. We meet them from all over. We've got about 25 states."
The festival run by mostly volunteers also draws some big-name artists. And fans lined up for their merchandise and a few autographs.
"We know so many of the people now its become a homecoming. Meeting old friends and then getting to also meet new ones," said Vincent.
For thirteen years now the Graves have been putting on this Bluegrass music festival. It started as a Memorial Day backyard gathering, and has turned into so much more. People can come out to listen to the music, or they can even try to play it.
