Tornado Watch In Central Virginia

March 4, 2008

There is a tornado watch for Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, and Orange Counties and the city of Charlottesville until 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. This storm has the potential to cause very heavy rain for short periods of time, which can lend to localized flooding.

These storms have a history of producing damaging winds. A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes.

The National Weather Service advises residents to seek shelter in the event that a warning is issued.
