Junior League of Charlottesvlle Hands Out Emily Couric Award

The Junior League of Charlottesville has announced this year's recipient of the Emily Couric Community Advocacy Award. Wendy Brown is this year's winner.

She is a co-founder of the Center for Non-profit Excellence. The $2,000r award is given in honor of a person who works to better the community.

"It's pretty awe inspiring actually and I cannot thank the Junior League enough and my board for nominating me but I really think this award is for every advocate in the community who works for a community," said Brown.

The award was created to honor the late senator Emily Couric who worked closly with the Junior League of Charlottesville.
