A Bumpass man was killed during the afternoon on Sunday, July 3.
The one car crash occurred on Owens Creek Road / Route 663, just before 4:00 p.m., about a mile east of Holly Grove Road / Route 610 in Louisa County .
The investigation by the Virginia State Police revealed that at 1997 Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound on Route 663, when the vehicle ran off the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected the vehicle, causing the vehicle to over turn twice. The vehicle then struck a tree.
The driver, 43-year old Christopher Clyde Miracle, of the 100 block of Whispering Pine Lane, was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Miracle died at scene of the crash.
A passenger in the vehicle, James Lewis Henley, of Mineral was wearing a safety belt and was not injured. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
