Police in Albemarle County were busy this afternoon along the county's roadways.

Around 11:00 a.m., officers with the traffic unit responded to an accident on Route 22. Officers say a woman was driving her car in the 3500 block of Louisa Road, when she somehow went down an embankment. The car caught fire, but the flames were quickly put out by firefighters.

The woman, who escaped from the burning car before crews arrived, was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for unknown injuries.
