Police in Albemarle County are warning the public about a series of overnight break-ins in Charlottesville. Five residences have been broken into over the past three weeks in the Hessian Hills, Four Seasons, and Mallside Apartment areas.
Police say the burglar is entering the homes and apartments through unlocked doors and windows overnight, and stealing everything from wallets and cash to computers.
Most of the residents we talked to had no idea of the crimes, and that's why police are trying to get the word out. People who live in the area are being urged to lock their doors and windows.
"[I'm] a little nervous," Kendall Howell said. "I don't want my house broken into. There are criminals out there. They could break in, and people will steal your stuff."
Nobody has been injured, in fact, nobody has even woken up during the burglaries.
Police do not have any suspect information at this time so they're asking for your help. If you have any information, please call 434-296-5807.
