A new health center is open for business in Louisa County, giving uninsured people alternative healthcare options.
The Health and Wellness Center of Louisa says they'll treat anyone who is uninsured as well as insured.
They welcome patients with primary care type issues, such as immunizations, physicals, and chronic disease management.
The center offers a sliding fee, which means the cost of service is based on your income.
For families with a low income in Louisa this is an alternative to the health department, where they could only be seen for a limited number of issues.
"There's a tremendous need for this kind of service in Louisa, it will definitely fill a void that we just haven't had," said Paul Oswell, Director, Louisa Co. Social Services.
The health center was made possible through federal funding and grants.
The center will have a physician or nurse practitioner on duty 5 days a week.
