The Charlottesville School Board and City Council met for discussions over lunch today. Officials continued their search for a superintendent. They are still looking for a consulting firm to help with that process.

The school board also thanked teacher development and community partnerships for the preliminary SOL results, which indicate all six city elementary schools will be accredited. Both groups are happy with the results, however they know the projects need to continue for other schools.

"We need to make more progress, they're not where we need to be, and so we'll continue to focus on academic achievement and getting those scores up," said School Board Chair, Julie Gronlund.

Board members also discussed recent approval of a company for a new strategic plan for city schools.
