Today the Charlottesville High School choir sang the original composition "I Love Charlottesville" for the first time.
It was written and composed by Dr. Theodore Twitchell, a Charlottesville resident and nationally recognized song writer.
"I visited Charlottesville and went down the streets and talked with its people and found them very interesting," Dr. Twitchell says. "[I] found Charlottesville had the right number of syllables and could be rhymed very easily so i decided to write a nice song for [the city]."
Doctor Twitchell has also started working on another song "Charlottesville in the Spring."
Today's performance was followed by a reception to honor his work.
