The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority is one step closer to proceeding with an additional water supply for our area.
At the July 25 meeting an amendment to the engineering contract to work on the water supply was approved. Officials expect to move forward with the project over the next 6 months.
By February, the Authority will submit the Ragged Mountain water supply option and an alternative for the state's approval. But, Officials said most of the community is in support of the option they have chosen.
"With the idea of the Ragged Mountain concept with a South Fork pipeline, there seems to be a lot of agreement in this community from the feedback that I'm getting that we are moving in a common direction, which I think is wonderful," said Tom Frederick.
There will be two public outreach meetings in late October and January before it is submitted to the state in February.
