Some teens tested the waters Wednesday by showing off their summer skills.
The group got their first chance to race pirogue boats, ones they've been building themselves over the last four weeks.
The event happened at Darden Towe Park. It's all part of a joint effort between the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center and Charlottesville's Park and Recreation. Through the program, the kids, who were mostly from Somalia, learned carpentry skills and team building.
