Some very special kids got a chance to showcase their talent today. A group from the Charlottesville Parks and Rec Therapeutic Recreation Program celebrated the end of their 6 week camp by having their annual talent show. The program is geared mostly towards disabled kids, ages 8 - 21. Some of the talents included singing, dancing, and joke telling.
"In our camp, in our situation, they all feel special, they all feel like they belong. They all feel like they have special talents and they all just want to show them off. So it's really important both to them and to us," said therapeutic recreation specialist, Leslie Kelley-Genson.
The program has been around for about 26 years.
