This is just the beginning for the new Pavilion, but judging from the crowds reactions it's going to be a huge success.
You've got the crowd, the band, and more importantly the brand new Pavilion. With the day being Friday, it must be time for 'Fridays After Five.'
"It's awesome, it's just so many people so fun with music, drinks, dancing, and all that. It is so fun," said Kristin Sandberg.
"It's great, and I love it. I think Charlottesville has needed an update, and this pretty much has done it. It's a wonderful place to be," said Nathaniel Winston.
Today not only starts the weekend, it also starts the continuing series of 'Fridays After Five' at the outdoor stage.
The excited reactions serve as a sigh of relief for the many hours put into getting the pavilion to Charlottesville. The venue's staff worked through torrential rain, blistering heat, and minor construction delays.
"I was like, 'there's no way they are going to have this ready,' but surprisingly they had it done," added Winston.
The crowd felt relief too, and poured in to see and hear local favorite Terri Allard. Allard, who started her music career in our city 20 years ago, did not disappoint.
"It's been fun, and I do not know what else to say," added another concert-goer.
While many in Charlottesville are excited to finally see 'Fridays After Five' at The Pavilion, they also look forward to many things to come to our city.
"Yeah, definitely, as I think it is going to bring the coming together. It's going to bring all different ages out to hang out, and listen to good music," said Sandberg.
"New sights for everybody, new up and coming events, and attractions here, so I think it is going great," said Winston.
