Two men and a woman are in police custody after vandalism in the Maplewood Cemetary on Maple Street in Charlottesville.

The three people facing charges are 24-year-old Earl McCrae, 23 year-old, Michael Mills, and 30-year-old Dawn Johnson. They were taken into custody on Saturday night for trespassing at the cemetery. Mills was also charged with destruction of property.

When police searched the cemetery they found seven damaged gravestones.

A similar vandalism occurred at the same cemetery last month, also involving multiple grave sites.

The investigation into that incident continues.
