ODU Seeking New President, Taps Interim President

April 15, 2008

Old Dominion is tapping an interim president to oversee the Norfolk school between the time President Roseann Runte leaves and a new president arrives.

Runte will become president of Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario on July 1st.

The school's board of visitors appointed John R. Broderick as acting president until the new president starts. Broderick is vice president for institutional advancement and admissions and chief of staff.

He joined the school in 1993 as director of public information and has served as a vice president since 1996.

Old Dominion formed a 16-person committee in January to find a president.
