Seniors in Albemarle County will soon have more housing options.

On Tuesday an official groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction on Park View at South Pantops. The 90-unit housing community will be equipped with its own bus system, an exercise room, a social worker, and a nurse on site. Officials are hoping these seniors will live longer healthier lives.

"Our primary goal at JABA is to enable people to stay at home for as long as possible, so if we can put people in housing like Park View we'll better realize that goal," said Gordon Walker of the Jefferson Area Board of Aging.

Park View is supported by Shelter Development and the Jefferson Area Board of Aging. It's scheduled to be completed by late summer of 2006.
