Albemarle County officials had a chance to thank their employees for their years of service.
Every year the county gets the opportunity to recognize their employees that go above and beyond the call of duty.
Some of them have worked for the police department, government offices, or the school system. Four people were specially recognized for 40 years of service to the county.
"It doesn't seem like it's been 40 years. I think maybe I was 10 when I started. Anyway, I've loved it, I've loved working there, it's been part of my life," said Myrtle Rhodes, who works for Scottsville Elementary.
Rhodes said she plans on working for the county at least a few more years.
