Disaster situations can bring out the best in people--which we have seen right here in Charlottesville.

A group of strangers came together to form the Starlight Express Gulf Relief Effort, which is in essence adopting the town of Diamond Head Mississippi. They are filling two busses of supplies, but still looking for an EMT to ride along and a list of supplies.

"Toiletries, paper plates, plastic silverware to feed these people, trash bags, wipes, the list goes on. Basically we're grateful for everything. Transistor radios that people can put some batteries in," said Claire Thompson and Paula Damgaard.

They are also bringing back as many people back to Charlottesville as they can fit that want to come. The group is coordinating housing for these families and already has 12 apartments set-up.
