Judge Awards Rape Suspect Bond

Christopher Lynn Matthew, 27-year-old charged with one count of sexual assault, appeared in court for his bond hearing Tuesday.

The judge award Matthew bond set at $25,000, but the commonwealth attorney appealed. Matthew will now have to wait until 5 p.m. Tuesday to know if he will be released on bail.

If Matthew is release he is order to stay with his mother in Waynesboro with a 7:30 p.m. curfew.

A preliminary hearing is set for October 13.
