Albemarle Schools are opening their doors to hurricane victims--but these may not be the only new students at some schools.

The Albemarle School Board is one step closer to finalizing their redistricting plans. They voted to send the superintendent's plan to public comment--with two revisions.

"One would have some students that currently go to Crozet Elementary School to be redistricted to Brownsville and then some students currently in the Northfields area would be redistricted from Agnor-Hurt to Woodbrook," said Gordon Walker, Albemarle School Board Chair.

The public hearing will be held on September 29th at 6 p.m. in the Albemarle County Office Building but final vote not be until October.

The board also discussed characteristics they want in a superintendent. Over 900 county residents filled out a survey and said they were looking for someone with experience--from their own education to their work history--but most importantly someone who is a with strong leadership and communication skills.
