A truckload of relief supplies from our area is now on the road to Mississippi. The 48-foot truck took off Friday from the Wolfie's parking lot. It's almost completely packed with various items including water, food, and toiletries for Katrina victims. Everything was collected over the past two days. Organizers say local businesses and residents made it all happen and they're glad it was a success.
"It's great, it's fantastic. The emotions are more than you can imagine of being able to know that we've helped somebody," said organizer, Tom Powell.
The truck should reach Mississippi by Sunday. Powell hopes to send one next week also.
