Family, friends, and supporters crowded the room for one man: Delegate Rob Bell who won the 58th district seat. He beat Albemarle County School Board Member Steve Koleszar by an overwhelming margin.

"I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. For this district, it's a historic win. It's entirely because of the hard work that you did. It's an honor and privilege to represent you in Richmond, so thank you again very very much," Bell said in his speech.

Another big name Republican was Tom McCrystal. He was defeated by David Toscano, but isn't giving up on Richmond.

"We're overseeing some technology contracts, so I'm still working down in Richmond and working to make government work better and cost less."

The tone of the local campaigns were more positive than ever.

"I also want to congratulate my opponent, David Toscano. He ran half of what has become known as the most civil race in the Commonwealth of Virginia," said McCrystal.

With the two delegates splitting the wins and losses. This has many republicans smiling because of the historically democratic area.
