Some Hurricane Katrina victims in Mississippi are thankful for a truckload of relief supplies they received from Charlottesville. Now organizers are hoping to send even more.
This time, the truck is set up in the Colonial Auto Center parking lot along Route 29 behind the main show room. People have already started dropping off items.
This truck is bigger than the previous one and organizers are hoping to fill it up. They're asking you to give whatever you can.
"We don't care if you bring us 1 can or 100 cans, but we really want you to bring something, and, like I said, it's literally everything, cleaning supplies, male and female personal hygiene items, anything for babies, water, Gatorade," said organizer, Tom Powell.
Items will be collected through Saturday evening, September 17, and driven to Mississippi early next week.
