Residents traveling in the East part of Charlottesville may have an easier way to get to work--that includes less traffic.
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors voted to study the benefits of adding an eastern connector to link the eastern part of the county with the city of Charlottesville in the Pantops area--which will move traffic more smoothly.
"[It will] really help people circulate in the eastern part of the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County in a way that they really are not able to do right now. That will obviously reduce traffic demands on some of the other roads that are over capacity at this point," said Lee Catlin, Albemarle County Spokesperson.
Both the city and county will split the cost 50-50 for the study.
