Hundreds of college students were busy making connections Tuesday, Nov. 1, to help them in their career.

The University of Virginia's Career Services held their 22nd Annual Diversity Career Day at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville. The event gives over 100 businesses and organizations the opportunity to diversify their workplace and gives students a chance to meet with possible future employers.

"I've gotten to speak to a lot of great people about different types of jobs, so I'm learning about different organizations and companies, and it's a wonderful experience so far," said 4th year student, Laura Jackson.

"I'm hoping they'll make the connections that will lead to either valuable internships, or jobs for them," said Koleta Moore, with University Career Services.

About 1,000 students from colleges from as far as D.C. attended the career day.
