Police are investigating a case involving three cars stolen from a body shop. The thefts may be part of a rash of car thefts in other areas. Police are questioning some suspects, but they aren't saying much because they don't want to jeopardize their investigation.

The burglaries happened some time after midnight at the Masters Auto Body shop on Monticello road. Police believe the suspects knocked the lock off the outside fence to get in. They stole a 1986 Porsche, a 2006 Volkswagen Passat and a 2006 BMW. Two of the three care were found early Wednesday. One car was found on 12th Street, the other car was found in Culpepper. The owners of the cars were notified.

CBS19/ABC16 spoke to several residents in the area who were surprised to hear about the incidents. One resident said that neighborhood is extremely dark at night and she's been asking the city to put up more street lights for months. She said she'd like to see more police presence.
