With state elections just days away, Republicans are putting their campaigning in high gear, right here in our area.
Gubernatorial candidate Jerry Kilgore took part in a Republican rally Friday at Wolfie's, along Rio Road in Albemarle County. He was joined by candidate for the 58th House Seat, Rob Bell, Lt. Gov. candidate Bill Bolling, and U.S. Senator George Allen. Kilgore believes now, the race will be determined by one thing.
"Who has the best ground war," said Kilgore. "We have a great ground war getting people to the polls on Election Day. We're ready to go and win this race. It's calling and hauling time. That's what we call it in Western Virginia and we're going to be calling everybody and getting them to the polls on Tuesday."
The Republicans also encouraged voters themselves to talk to their neighbors and get them to head to the polls.
