Battle for the 58th House Seat

Video will be available shortly.

November 4, 2005

As Election Day draws closer, candidates running for the 58th District House of Delegates seat are stepping it up.

For Democratic Candidate Steve Koleszar and Republican Candidate Rob Bell, it's four days and counting. Both candidates say they're excited about what's to come and are looking forward to working on issues important to voters in Central Virginia.

"I want to work on the new sex offender laws. We need to have tougher penalties for people who commit sex crimes against children. The second is t[hat] we're going to fix eminent domain [so that] the government can't just take private property for any old reason. It's going to have to be for a valid public purpose, like it was until recently," said Republican Rob Bell.

"We need a government that's effective and not big and bureaucratic. We need world class school systems so that we can compete and thrive in the global economy. We need to solve the transportation and sprawl mess on 29 North," said Democrat Steve Koleszar

Both candidates say they'll be campaigning aggressively up until Election Day.
