Instead of learning about other cultures in textbooks, one local school's bringing the culture to the students.

The Peabody School hosted the annual "International Day." Kids enjoyed arts and crafts, ethnic food from a variety of nations, and even a live band.

School officials said it's a way for students to embrace backgrounds and history of others. Children said it's also a chance to get out of the classroom and bring other culture to life.

"Instead of doing the same old thing over and over again, you're doing something different," said one Peabody student.

"It's fun trying out the different food because you get to taste different things and you get to be adventurous," said another student.

Previous international festivals they've hosted included dancers, crafts people and martial artists.
