What could be better than winning a Harley Davidson motorcycle? Well, how about winning one signed by the Rolling Stones.
Area residents have a chance to grab a Harley motorcycle autographed by Mick and the boys while they were in Charlottesville. An organization called "Log a Load for Kids" - made up of local loggers and foresters - is putting on the bike raffle. All proceeds will benefit the University of Virginia Children's Hospital. Organizers are thrilled about the fundraiser.
?It enthuses me to do this and really with the Rolling Stones coming on board to endorse our efforts, they've more than doubled my excitement," said chairman of Log a Load for Kids, Rich Palermo.
This is the 15th year the organization has raised money for the Children's Hospital. They hope this bike raffle will generate about $100,000 this year.
If you want to help out and want a shot at that Harley - places to buy tickets include: Plan 9 stores, ACAC, and the University Bookstore. They are $5 each. The raffle takes place December 2nd.
