A house fire was reported on the 1000 block of King Street in Charlottesville just after 2 PM on Thursday. Fire fighters fought the flames for over an hour until it went out.
Neighbors said that the house was undergoing renovations and no one currently lived there. According to the Fire Chief, no one was inside at the time of the fire.
Five fire trucks were on the scene, and there was one reported injury. A firefighter had to be treated for heat exhaustion.
Samuel Lewis, a neighbor, was just getting home when he saw the flames shooting through the house: "I looked over there at the fence and I saw fire from the yard. I went down to where my brother-in-law lives, and I saw it hitting the house, and I said oh my goodness that back part of the house is on fire."
Currently the cause of the fire is undetermined.
