Last week, we brought you a story on how employees at The Salvation Army are knitting items to keep the homeless warm.
Since that story aired, The Salvation Army has had a great response from CBS19/ABC16 viewers who also wanted to help. They donated yarn, jackets and sweaters. That's more than enough to meet this year's goal of helping nearly 500 people.
"It is a new program here at the Salvation Army and a lot of people saw [the story] and we're grateful, thank you very much," said Kimberly Farish of The Salvation Army.
If you'd still like to donate any cash or winter items, call The Salvation Army at (434) 295-4058.
