Many early admission deadlines for colleges hit December 1, making parents plan earlier than ever.

Burley Middle School hosted a college and career planning night. It may seem a long way off for these parents, but there are things you can do now, which will help in the future.

"Really where you want the kids to start thinking about it way before their senior year and start thinking about what are my interests," said Shelley Payne part of the Burley Middle School PTO. "Then it's not going to be a snap or rush decision when they hit their senior year."

Organizers emphasized that even if your child doesn't want to go to college, you should still help them find their interests to plan a career.
