An accident Tuesday morning sent one woman to the hospital and the cause was black ice.
Albemarle County police say slick roadways sent this truck flying into oncoming traffic on Buck Mountain Road. The truck was thrown upside down.
No other cars were involved in the accident. Police say conditions like this with ice on the roads should tell you to give yourself extra time and be more cautious of tree covered roadways.
"It's best, when we have this kind of weather, for motorists to allow a couple hours before they head off to work to allow the sun to get in and take its effect on the roadway and warm [it] up," said Sean Horn of the Albemarle County Police.
Police say the woman in the overturned truck was not speeding and is expected to be okay.
