Burglars were caught red-handed last night in Albemarle County.

After midnight County police responded to 911 calls that suggested two burglaries were in progress on Putt Putt Lane. When officers arrived, they found four men with stolen property.

19 year-old Andre Hill Jr. and 20-year-old Shadee Gilliam, along with two other juveniles, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering and larceny. Police said if it wasn't for the callers they might not have been caught.

"The only reason we were able to make these arrests was because we had people call in to 911 and we were able to get there quickly and we were able to recover some but not all of the property," said Lt. John Teixeira, of the Albemarle County Police.

Some of those stolen items were jewelry, clothing and movies.
