Charlottesville Police say one person was shot. It is unclear if Albemarle County Police's investigation is related to the shooting. It is also unclear who fired the shot and who the victim is.
The Newsplex's Evanne Armour said one man, the apparent victim, was taken away on a stretcher.
One neighbor said he could hear fighting from his own home, then heard gunshots. Others said they were surprised something like this happened in their neighborhood. A concerned neighborhood resident was reassured by an officer that the area was safe.
