Scott Goodman, a Charlottesville defense attorney, says he was not surprised with the verdict but he was disappointed with the press conference after the verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial.
The state attorney attacked the decision smiling as she spoke and the defense was gloating.
Goodman said it should have been a time to pay respect to the Martin family.
He also said an all-female jury is something he does not remember ever seeing in Charlottesville.
Goodman said the jury system is imperfect but the gender or race of the jurors shouldn't affect the decision.
"The law is the same, the law is colorblind," Goodman said. "So whether or not the victim was white or whether or not both individuals were black or both were white, the law would've been the same and one would hope the jury would've come to the same conclusion colorblind and race neutral."
Goodman also said the "Stand Your Ground" self-defense law is the same here in Virginia.
