Postage stamps will increase to 39 cents starting Sunday, Jan. 8.
If you are planning to use all of your 37 cent stamps without having to add postage, you're going to have to do so before Sunday.
That's when anything post marked on or after this Sunday has to have a 39 cent stamp on it for regular postage delivery. That's if you want the package to make it to its destination on time.
Two cents may not sound like a lot of money, but for those who mail a lot of letters or bills, they say it's a bit of a hassle.
"I have actually a whole booklet of 37 cent stamps sitting at home," said Michelle Toledo Cainas who's purchasing stamps. "I am going to have to go buy those one cent or two cent stamps. So it is a bit of inconvenience for the first turn around period, but I'll get use to it."
Some post offices were sold out of the one and two cent stamps. The increase is due to rising costs globally.
