Before heading out to the post office to send your next batch of bills, you're going to have to dig out a few more pennies. Starting Sunday, the price of a stamp jumped to 39 cents. This price increase has made two cent stamps a very hot commodity at many local post offices.
Post offices are attempting to keep up with the high demand and although the lines are long, customers are doing their best to remain patient.
"I saw the line was long inside, so I got [my two cent stamps] out of the machine, so it didn't take long. I'll have to get my new 39 cent stamps maybe next week," said Elinor Howell.
Postal workers in Charlottesville remain confident that they have ordered enough two cent stamps to satisfy everyone's mailing needs.
