Albemarle County Police are looking for the suspect in the armed robbery of the LoanMax on Route 29, near the intersection with Rio Road.

They say that shortly before 6:00pm they responded to a call about an armed robbery at LoanMax.

The victim told police that who they believed to be a man came into the store and pulled a gun on the lone clerk in the building and demanded money. The clerk gave the robber some money, who then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The clerk was no hurt during the robbery.

The victim was not able to give Police a good suspect description, but investigators canvased the neighboring businesses to find out if employees or bystanders saw anything more.

Lt. Peter Mainzer with the Albemarle County Police says that it is strange to see an armed robbery at that time of day in such a busy area, and suspects that will help them in their investigation.
