One neighborhood in Charlottesville is putting in the legwork to make their community is something to smile about "In Our Backyard".
'In Our Backyard' is the theme the Rose Hill community is calling there Community Design Project, in which they are collaborating with the city of Charlottesville.
The planning process kicked off in October, 2005, where community members gathered to draft 18 neighborhood plans.
Right now they are in the comprehensive stage of gathering that information to give neighbors what they want to see in their community.
A meeting was held earlier in the week, were those who live in the Rose Hill area say they are welcoming to changes, but they just want to have a say in what those changes are.
"We want to be proactive, we want to set and lay the plans down now on what we would like to see our neighborhood to be," said Gwedette Crummie, Rose Hill Neighborhood Association President. "So that if any builders come in, they need to speak to us first."
